AP Computer Science A & Principles Coaching

AP Computer Science is growing fast—nearly 100,000 students took AP Computer Science A in 2024, and more than two-thirds scored 3 or higher. (AP Students) But many students still feel underprepared or have limited CS teaching at school.

  • Understand Java or Python fundamentals properly, not just memorize syntax.
  • Work through past FRQs and multiple-choice questions.
  • Build confidence before the exam with structured practice.
Recommended: 1 or 2 sessions per week, from 3 to 6 months before the exam.

Python Foundations & Projects (Grades 6–10)

For students who want to start coding or strengthen their basics. We use Python because it’s readable, widely used in industry, and great for learning problem-solving.

  • Learn variables, loops, conditionals, functions, and basic data structures.
  • Build small projects like games, quizzes, simple simulations, or basic automations.
  • Get comfortable reading and writing code on their own.
Typically 8–12 weeks, 1 session per week, with optional extension for more projects.

Problem-Solving & DSA Foundations (Advanced students)

For advanced high-school or early college students who want to go beyond schoolwork and learn the building blocks of algorithms and data structures.

  • Core ideas like arrays, linked lists, stacks, queues, recursion, and complexity.
  • Patterns in problem-solving used in contests and interviews.
  • How to reason about code, not just debug it.
Typically 10–16 weeks depending on depth and pace.

Not sure which track fits? We can mix and match topics after understanding the student’s level.

What does a typical session look like?

Sessions run 60 minutes online using Zoom or Google Meet. We use screen sharing and collaborative editors so the student writes code themselves, with live guidance. The goal is steady progress every week, not overwhelming homework.

  • Quick check-in on previous week’s work.
  • Introduce 1–2 core concepts with examples.
  • Work through problems or projects together.
  • Summarize key ideas and next steps.

Best fit for

  • Students in US middle or high school (or equivalent) who are curious about programming.
  • Students preparing for AP CS A or Principles.
  • Students who prefer interactive help over watching recorded videos.

Probably not a fit if…

  • You only want someone to complete homework or projects for the student.
  • You’re looking for a huge anonymous course with thousands of students at once.

Frequently asked questions

What ages or grades do you teach?

Typically grades 6–12, plus early college students who need fundamentals or extra support in their first CS classes.

Do you only teach US students?

Our programs are designed around US and international curricula like AP and IB, but we work with students from any country as long as session times and language (English) are a good fit.

How do payments work?

We typically charge per package (for example, 8 or 12 sessions). Payment links and currency options can be discussed on the initial call.

Can parents sit in on sessions?

Parents are welcome to join the first session or quick check-ins. Most students focus better when they have some independence, but we’re happy to coordinate with parents regularly.
